Hi there, I’m Dr. Bean

I teach basic English starting with skill mastery of ABCs, phonics, vocabulary building, verbs, story reading, songs and TV series.  If you can pronounce it, you can spell it and then you can speak it.  I will help you build up your confidence. If you want my help, I will show you how to use my lessons to build up your skills.

Bio

I have been teaching since 1990 and have helped students of all ages and economic backgrounds.  I taught in Compton, California from 1994 to 2001, to mainly black and Hispanic students.  I currently live and teach in Medellin, Colombia to Spanish speakers.

My method is phonics based and all of my students start off with an ABC song, phonics cards, vocabulary lists that require spelling, and speaking and progresses to verbs and conjugating; culminating in creating sentences.

Remember that this is basic English designed to help with pronunciation, spelling and speaking.  If you can do this you will be able to read as well.

​

I am 68, 6'2", blonde, married with 2 poodles. At one time in my life I had saved over 430 abandoned street dogs.

I have been educated beyond my intelligence and I am here to assist others to learn basic English.  I am glad to share my education and experience to those in need and ask that you provide these materials to others and assist them in learning English.  Teaching others these basics will help strengthen one's own skills.
